Hmmmmmm. The 025-906-021C (Black box style) fits in my original bracket on my 84 Westy with no modifications. The 021C is the High Performance ECU for European models without Closed Loop (O2). Got it from Boston Bob a few years back, tuned for a bit more performance (especially on the hills/grades) and did not affect mileage from the 021 stock ECU, especially with my 2.1 upgrade. I have used it temporarily on my 84GL w/the 1.9 while searching and eventually finding another 021 ECU. Talk about a "road burner", it just goes and goes and goes....... -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing From March 1999 To January 2012 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com Find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Jim-Thompson/100000710343835 *********************************** On Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 5:34 PM, Rocket J Squirrel <camping.elliott@gmail.com> wrote: > P/N 025 906 021 -- the Bosch version in the metal box, if possible, as > it fits the mounting bracket in my van, unlike the black plastic box "C" > version (025 906 021C). > > -- > Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott > 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, > Bend, Ore.
