Well, we could play with some more math. Yeti claims their ice chest will keep block ice for a week. I wonder if that is true, if the box is repeatedly opened, but haven't seen fit yet to spend the $300 or more bucks for the box to find out. However, the box is approved by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee for use in grizzly habitat for food storage (if you use Yeti's padlocks). Ah, the dollars come and the dollars go. mcneely ---- Steven Johnson <sjohnso2000@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > Yeah, but with a propane fridge you don't have to leave your remote site > for a while to go get ice.... > > Steven > 91 Westy > > On Sat, Aug 25, 2012 at 11:34 AM, george jannini <georgejoann@gmail.com>wrote: > > > Let's play with some maths here. > > > > Assuming inflation where it costs 3 bucks a bag for ice, a $1200 budget, > > and that you already own a cooler, Mr. Calculator tells me that you can > > fill said cooler 400 times. > > > > And think of all the pumping and sparking exercises that you won't have > > to go through, let alone pulling the stupid fridge out every couple of > > years from a wall that it doesn't want to come out of, and is even more > > reluctant to slide back into. > > > > If my RM182B ever quits, my mind's already made up. > > > > I'm certain your mileage will vary, > > Geo/ATL > > -- David McNeely
