Hi All,

I am down to one working latch on the engine cover (one of these:
http://images.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/pix/3627532.jpg ).  When I got
the van the left latch on the cover had the flat bit snapped off.  I guess
the PO forgot to move those tire chains  and forced the lid down. (how many
people carry and actually use those?  I guess it gives you a warm feeling
as you go into a mountain pass where it says 'carry chains')

So, my request to the list:  does anyone have a crappy engine lid they'd be
willing to part out and send me just the latch bolt.  Alternatively, has
anyone rigged up a fix for this?
