Hi all. Before removing the nut, wheel off the ground, I pushed the washer with a screwdriver (a la Bentley). It didn't move. Maybe the washer was already up against spindle so had nowhere to move. I should have checked. Still, I suspect the bearings may have been on too tight. So..... Do the marks on the inner and outer bearing race journals in this image: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-vUin7SyVCwE/UEgWttTJswI/AAAAAAAAGDE/cnloZnrPsHQ/s720/FR%2520Spindle%2520%252788.jpg indicate that the bearing races were turning on the spindle? The outer bearing didn't look damaged. I have a spare '85 spindle I can measure and I'll search the archives, but how much smaller should each spindle journal OD be compared to each bearing race ID?
