Finished HS in '58 then disappeared into the Navy. Never saw but three or four HS friends after that. Lived a different life. Same with college. Finished, then went to live in a different world, leaving all behind. A little while back, after 46 years, I drove through my college alma mater. Many buildings gone, new building erected. Old haunts disappeared. Didn't even stop. Didn't even recognize the place, it was so different I didn't relate. The old memories of the place will have to suffice, but then I never missed it enough to think of it but infrequently - like a few years between each thought of it. Now, most Faceplant friends are family, and friends from my life in Alaska, plus some fine folk I have met through this list. Joy Hecht, Stephen Gronski and wife, Gary Bawden, "Unca Joel" Walker, Jim Felder, Tim Hannink just to name a few. And there are many from the the internet town of "Clayart" which spans a few continents. So I guess Faceplant can form a community, just hadn't thought of it that way. But for all of these - mostly I communicate using e-mails and chat. Works for me.
