Yes, that is what I am suggesting. A donut inside the spring, over the bump stop post, to keep the spring centered on the post. I would cut rings from plastic cutting board and stack a few together, screwed together, probably with the bottom one extending out below and past the remaining bottom coil of the spring. Kinda like a hat up over the post, brim down under the spring. The plastic will keep things quieter on bumps. Mark Ben T wrote: > Mark, > > What do you mean by "...big center donut..."? Is there some generic spacer which can work in this application? I see the centering post on the swingarms. I'm guessing you are suggesting a larger washer in the form of a rubber "donut" can take up the space between that post and the resulting larger coil when the tapered coil is cut off. > > > BenT > sent from my electronic leash > > On Sep 27, 2012, at 2:15 PM, mark drillock <mdrillock@cox.net> wrote: > >> Cutting some bottom coils off is still probably the easiest and cheapest way. Cut 2 off first, see what happens, then 1 more and see what happens. Repeat as needed until you are happy with the height. Then add a big center donut inside the bottom coil that is left, centering it on the lower spring post of the control arm. >> >> Mark >> >>> >
