Dumbest thing?  Hard to say, but I managed to lose two gas caps on the
same trip!  First was gassing up, removed key and left cap on pump and went
inside store (yeah, I know)  Had to pee.  Really really had to pee.
 Replacement cap fell off somewhere...aftermarket cap sucks, locator "nose"
not as long as original, nor is it tapered.

   But the dumbest thing, I guess, is driving the bus to New England and
back, expecting that nothing exciting is gonna happen.
