well, I'm not completely at the stage of being a WWII re-enactor :) But what would be useful is one of those canvas water bags. I remember "dromedary" brand ones. I have 2 canvas buckets, a largish green US model and a smaller un-dyed French one. We find them very useful when vanagon camping. alistair On 2012-10-12, at 4:05 PM, Scott Daniel - Turbovans wrote: > Considering your 1944 Jerry Can .. > would you like a 1944 canteen, in stainless ( some where aluminum ) with matching heavy duty canvas holder , with the wire bale that clips in a a web belt of the era ? > 67 years old , in near perfect condition. > oh ..with 'canteen cup' too ....that the canteen nests into, with handle. > > Scott > > > On 10/12/2012 7:23 AM, Alistair Bell wrote: >> no, I won't be using it as a water can. Given where you got it, you may want to think about what might have been in it in the past before using it as a water can. Just a thought.
