But I don't believe you can get OEM steel pipes anymore. And the steel pipes that are out there are not as sturdy as the originals. Please correct me it I am wrong.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=2 face=Tahoma>Changing to the plastic pipes is (relitively) inexpensive, kits are out there to change the earlier steel pipe system to plastic. And as I said. Volkswagen changed to plastic pipes because the metal ones were so inferior that a change was made after only a few years of using them. I am not out to second guess a Volkswagen engineer. I am only pointing out that if you plan on keeping your Vanagon a while (mine usually stay with me for 10 to 15 years) then go to something other than mild steel pipes.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=2 face=Tahoma></FONT> </DIV><DIV><FONT size=2 face=Tahoma>Dave B.</FONT></DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV style="MARGIN: 5px 0px; BORDER-TOP: #bcbcbc 1px solid"></DIV><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: arial; COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 12px">On 10/18/12, <SPAN>Scott Daniel - Turbovans<scottdaniel@turbovans.com></SPAN> wrote:</SPAN><DIV><FONT size=+1><FONT face="Comic Sans MS"><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><FONT size=+1><BR><FONT size=+1>S<FONT size=+1>teel pipes ..<BR><FONT size=+1>it takes the factory one<FONT size=+1>s 20 ye<FONT size=+1>ars to rot out, and that is purely from not changing coolant, or using some r<FONT size=+1>ust inhibit<FONT size=+1>ing additive.
