Gee, that oughta be a pretty big clue...violence done to wires,
intermittent follows, look for unplugged connections behind
fuse/relay panel, bad crimps, wires broken inside insulation.

You're still not being specific enough to be certain what you're
saying. I infer that with ignition on, headlight switch on, cycling
the stalk switch turns L-HI on and off. I further infer that with
headlight switch don't care, ignition don't care, pulling and holding
the stalk also gives you L-HI as long as you hold it back. If that's
the case, everything is good from the top of page 97.20 down through
the input and at least the 56a output terminal of the stalk switch in
the middle of track 43; plus the wire on that track feeding S5 and S6
and all the wires from S5 out to the headlight and back to ground on
track 42. What you have to do now is trace the voltage down tracks
40, 41, and 43 to see at what points (minimum of two) it vanishes
before it's supposed to or alternatively continues through the right
headlamp and appears on the track 43 ground wire where it shouldn't
be. If your high-beam indicator isn't working then you've got an
additional break between S5 on track 42 and the panel connector on track 44.

Nobody but you can go farther with it at this point.

Yours,
