The guy is right, the TDi conversion and transmission modification is worth $15k easy (probably more). Not a bad deal... For that price, it should be nearly perfect. Certainly, the A.C. should work, the tent should be good, the refrigerator should be working. If I am going to pay $20k, I want a ready to camp Campmobile, fully trustworthy. Otherwise, I can find one for considerably less and get it to where I want it to be. But, a used vehicle is worth what a willing buyer will pay. I doubt this one will get a willing buyer at that price, too many unknowns. But, I've been wrong one time in my life (ha ha). mcneely ---- Roger Whittaker <rogerwhitt1@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > dear questioning > > i submitted this article purely for the interest of folks who like to > read about others westies as for price ... > if the tdi was done well and the inclusion of a different gear ratio , > to imitate the factory 5 speed, indicates the conversation was done > with good planning at least ... > then i would say it is worth every penny of the 19 9 being asked .. > the stuff detailed as not working at optimum level is the same stuff > that gets discussed on these boards routinely as being mostly working > ... at best so ya 19 9 for a machine as clean and nice as this looks > to be is right in the ball park ... > i hope the vendor not only gets that but that two people show up at > the same time and have to fist fight over who can out bid the other for it ... > > regards > > > On Sun, Oct 21, 2012 at 3:51 PM, <mcneely4@cox.net> wrote: > > > so, this guy wants $20k U.S. for a vehicle that as stated needs a > > lot of work, or has features that he doesn't know whether they are > > in working condition or not.
