With Hurricane Sandy forecast to hit the East Coast early next week, remember that gerry.vanagon.com lives there. I have read: “In the meantime, a friend of a friend who works in emergency services said in a call with the feds yesterday, they were told to prepare for two-week power outages along the East Coast -- which means no phone, no computer, and no heat.”

If the Vanagon List goes down, don’t be surprised and please please don’t send messages to the list asking if the list is down. If you’re just dying to know, simply send an email to:

listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with

in the body of the message. You should receive a reply from the listserv within a few minutes. If no reply, then the listserv is down.

We have the ‘spare’ list on yahoogroups for just such circumstances. If you’re not subscribed, you will be ‘in the dark, literally. You can subscribe by sending an email to:

vanagon-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

or by visiting the yahoogroups website at:

If gerry goes down, that is where we will be posting updates.
