No Vanagon Content Whatsoever

I need to find a good strong adhesive tape to use on carpet. We have a
couple thin rubber floormats in the house at entrances. They are laid
atop carpeting. They move and bunch up as people walk across them. I
want to anchor them to the carpet to prevent that. I want to use tape,
but I don't want to use duct tape because I don't need any adhesive
residue stuck to the carpet. But the tape does need to be good and
grippy, and strong. Any ideas?
