Someone mentioned during the "fell out" thread about wanting to hear about
improbable fixes- so here goes.
I once had a fuel filter split on the way home during rush hour.  I used
the barrel from my clickable federal pen, shaved down the ends  to fit the
line, tied up tight to the line with the pen spring at both ends.
