I agree with Scott. This has to be one of the most stupid threads ever on the list. What the heck is wrong with changing oil on the solstices and equinoxes? If you drive your shoebox of a van all year round it is the least you can do for it. Folk fuss over so many other aspects of Vanagon ownership and then cheap out on oil? Even if you think Zetec engines are easily and cheaply replaced, do you really want a breakdown due to bad oil when on a trip? alistair On 2012-12-06, at 7:47 PM, Scott Daniel - Turbovans wrote: > yeah but why run a beautiful engine into the ground for the sake of > being cheap about oil changes? > > If I was going to consider doing thatI sure wouldn't tell anyone. > > People don't like just plain ole taking care of stuff ?? > Try it, it's rewarding .. > and less expensive in the long run, by far ! > > > > On 12/6/2012 5:36 PM, Robert Stevens wrote: >> On Dec 6, 2012, at 5:15 PM, Jim Akiba <syncrolist@BOSTIG.COM> wrote: >> >>> The point was to compare what would be lost due to maintenance >>> neglect to the cost of oil changes.
