I do not have South African lamps. I bought a rectangular headlamp that replaced the rectangular one I removed. Neither one had an opening through which a bulb could be installed. They look like sealed beam headlamps to me. Others say that is not correct, but I sure did what I did. It is out there in my garage right now. I am not going to remove the grill to look right now. But there it is. My other vehicles use halogen bulbs inserted into the headlamp assembly, so I know how that works. mcneely ---- Larry Alofs <lalofs@gmail.com> wrote: > So, Dave are you saying that you bought a rectangular sealed beam that > replaces the original square unit used in a '91 or do you have South > African grill with round lights like the older vans? > > Larry A. > > > On Sun, Dec 2, 2012 at 10:37 AM, Dave Mcneely <mcneely4@cox.net> wrote: > > > Patti, I got a replacement sealed beam headlamp for my 1991 Volkswagen > > Vanagon GL Campmobile at a local Autozone store.
