I think that if you're driving in area that may need tire chains a very goo=
d investment is a set of 4 really good winter tires. Let the tire "treads" =
begin.

I took possession of my first vanagon earlier this month. It's my daily dr=
iver=2C so priority went to identifying and fixing any driveability problem=
s.

I think we're good for now=2C so I'm turning my attention to the camper par=
t of the van. My mechanic has already chastised me for putting the tire ch=
ain bag on the driver's side of the under-bench compartment. So=2C I thoug=
ht a little survey would be nice.

what do you put where?

what is wrong with that? dont see a problem..as long as your not
squishing something and as long as your ECU (aka the "brain box") is got its
cover
on it.. shouldn't be a problem

After our Alaska trip July-August we needed to replace the original mudflap
on our van. We opted to go with the 2 front VW factory mud flaps from
Van-Cafe. They are high quality and I am very pleased with them.

id like to still think i was the one who came up with this idea, years
ago, having owned several VW Cabriolets :)

the '90-'93 models came with these crank knob extensions for the rear
side windows..

chris
still have a '90 vw cabriolet as well..

Thanks, just what I was looking for a few weeks back. But at $34, twice
the price of the offset cranks I did get, I don't think any cosmetic

find someone parting out a '90-'93 vw cabriolet! :)

Maybe that mechanic figured that if you got in the habit of stowing the
tire chains on top of the ECU, that one day you'd throw them there all
wet and they'd leak salty water into it....

that's good thinking about wet chains .. ( or salty and wet )
but no one would put wet tire chains on top of their ecu would they ?

Perhaps the poster will say 'why' her mechanic chastised her about that.

as for Studless Winter tires ..
good ones are awesome !

Good evening all. I was just wondering if anyone has tried window cranks fro=
m a Jetta? I just replaced one window crank on my t2' and it seems to stick o=
ut a lot more then the previous crank. Might just add the needed clearance.=20=
