Never done the Vanagon front end, but one of my essential tools is my cheap
shop press, which I've used more times than I ever thought I would.  HF has
a 12 ton unit for $129.   Get some short lengths of steel pipe in various
diameters and you'll find it to be a real lifesaver as well as timesaver.
