Well, that question certainly is something to consider. I suspect that if you have the siping done, all warranties, implied, stated, liability, whatever go out the door, with a signed waiver by the customer. I know I once had a Michelin tire that was not quite round. The dealer offered to do something he called "mic it out." He claimed he could make the tire round by that process, which involved shaving the tire a tiny bit. He wanted to do that rather than replace the tire. But then he wanted me to waive the tire warranty. I declined, and insisted on a new tire. It took a bit, but I got the new tire. mcneely ---- MICHAEL H <vwdash80@YAHOO.COM> wrote: > Dave, I thought the legality you questioned might be with the manufacturers warranty after the sipe mod. valid question none the less. mike ________________________________ From: Dave Mcneely <mcneely4@COX.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Tuesday, January 8, 2013 1:02 PM Subject: Re: BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO - LT195/75R14/D tires - first impressions > > > "But I still don't know if the BFG tire in 195/75-14 is approved for > winter.
