Exactly.  It's jargon/slang for a power supply that plugs directly
into the wall without an intervening cord; hence it becomes a wart on
the wall.  It's meant to express irritation at the nasty things, I
believe.  They're convenient for the manufacturer and nobody else
(except for the folks who make foot-long extension cords to plug them
