I believe VW calls it a pipe.  That line is not under pressure, it
just takes the overflow from the fuel pressure regulator.  Flow rate
through it is something north of one liter per minute, not much
really.  I'm no expert but I personally see no particular reason to
replace it unless the kink is at a flex point or is so deep that it's
causing back pressure.  YMMV.
