Here is the fix:   http://www.subarugears.com/  Unfortunately 2WD only, I guess you can't reverse the rear output shaft.  Something to work on!

Even that size is a large tire at just over 29 inches. This is almost 4 inches over stock. Keep in mind that many drive line parts were originally designed back for the 68 Bus with less than 60 HP and a much less weight. While I am a fan of different tire sizes for many reasons you have to be aware of the compromises involved. For off road many travels modifications make the transition from being stuck in the mud or sand to being broken down.
