All this discussion about storing a fuel pump. Don't you think your missing
the obvious, what about gasoline stabilizer? Cheap, available at any FLAPS,
safe! Works for me when I store any fuel system part that needs to stay wet,
fuel pumps,  injectors, fuel distributors (CIS system), pressure regulators,
etc!
