You had over temp problems before you put the scoops on and they helped?
(We're talking water temps right? You don't have an oil temp gauge
for the engine?)

Since I installed the Scan Gauge along with the first Subie conversion, I had
no prior info about the temp of the intake air (Syncro, snorkel up L "D" Pillar)
but since those installs (first: 2.2; 2nd: 3.0) I know now that the intake air temp
at the sensor just above the throttle body, is a few degrees above the environmental
ambient, which I'm SURE is quite a bit cooler all the time, than the air inside
the engine bay. Although that (snorkel) has no bearing on engine coolant and
oil temps, as far as I "know", it likely does have a bearing on engine performance
due to the cooler intake air, and that in turn, may have a bearing on a cooler
block?...i.e., coolant and oil temps.

Shortly after buying this van ('02), I put a SETRAB oil cooler w/fan, in the R
"D" pillar base, and noticed a 15 degree oil temp drop.
