First, and even if you don't make any changes in the lights, add a relay
kit to take the load off that light switch.  Even stock setup fries it
after time.
Second, if you upgrade the wattage on the bulbs beef up the wiring to them.
Then for better lighting on the road there are several options from going
to the South African grill and lights setup to the Euro Spec lights if you
can find them.  I went to the Ero Spec H4 lights and am convinced that is
the way to go if you want to keep the original appearance of the Vanagon.​
