The original tires that came with the alloy wheels were 205/70-14XL, Load
index 97. The "70" being significant. Yes the 185R14 will work. If you are
getting a used set you want to check the production date to make sure they
are not too old. Depending on where you live also consider that these are
not good winter tires.

Subject: 185 tires on Stock Alloys

I run the stock alloy wheels on my '85. I know the original size tire fro
those was a 205R14 - I may have an opportunity to get a set of the 185R14
Hankook fairly cheap. Will the 185's fit on those stock alloy rims?

Sorry if this is a silly question - I just wasn't sure at all and thought
I'd get a quick answer here.

Thanks,

Jeff
