Jeff - Sounds like a PO or mechanic installed a different or modified barrel clamp. This is what it should have ORIGINALLY had: Barrel 211 721 578 B Screw w/Hex Head N0102056 5x10mm Unfortunately, I do not have one at the ready to inspect. I've never seen one with an allen head screw before, even on the other VW models that used similar barrel clamps. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing From March 1999 To January 2012 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com Find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Jim-Thompson/100000710343835 *********************************** On Thu, May 16, 2013 at 6:10 AM, Jeff Lincoln <magikvw@gmail.com> wrote: > Scott - > > At the throttle end mine does have that barrel clap - but it is not secured > with a regular screw.
