So, is there a consensus on what the best TDI motor is for the Vanagon? Todd '88 Westy Too bad there is not a TDI boxer engine.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "mark drillock" <mdrillock@COX.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Wednesday, May 15, 2013 1:30:58 PM Subject: Re: All This Talk About Inline VWConversions... Yes, Thomas has them, as well as other VW diesel engines. You can see each one run in a video he takes of them. His website has links to view each that he has. The Argentinians that were here a few weeks ago had a blown 1.6TD motor in their 89 European Westy and a local shop replaced it with a 1.9NA 1Y motor from Quality German. Ran great, matched up well with their stock 5 speed tranny. Mark Scott Daniel - Turbovans wrote: > you can probably buy a 1.9NA from Quality German pretty easily.
