Hey all. 

I'm sure it's nothing, but thought I'd run this by you. Prepping for my trip tomorrow, I took out this cell charger that I bought that fits into the cigarette lighter to test it out. It came with a USB cable for the older iPhone so I plugged in the cable for the new iPhone. 

It did not seem to work.  As I pull the plug out I smell something burning. There is a little smoke, but seems more from the plug, not the outlet. And it was hot to touch. I am assuming the charger is a piece of crap and that is it.

Is there a chance there could be something wrong with the lighter socket? What could have caused this other than the charger being crap.
