I don't have one here to measure, but for what it's worth I'd expect
it to be a US size.

If you cut a strip of popsicle stick and screw it into the hole you
should be able to measure the pitch from that.  Given the pitch and
the inside diameter I can probably tell you what the outside diameter
should be.
