Few people know that the felt pad under the rotor in a 1.9 distributor takes a drop of light oil now and then. It lubes the centrifugal advance system. I treat *everything* for corrosion when I find some present..otherwise I don't service distribtors much ..like remove and service. Want to have clean contacts where the plug plugs on the side.. and since that plastic breaks easily there when it's old, I tend to leave that alone unless there is a reasonto undo it. I'm in the process or putting together a spare one to add to my parts collection in case I need it, or somebody I happen upon that might need some help. While doing this I just started wondering if this is something one should do as a routine maintenance thing > Happy trails, > Paul in Tracy > > Sent from my iPad
