Gets hot, gets wet, gets dirty, gets heavy, etc. Mine sagged and eventually broke away. I think you need to get a pressure washer wand in there to thoroughly clean the metal, then replace the insulation, though I do not know with what. A spray-on product would be my first thought, or you could screw on bails to hold the insulation padding in place, though I don't like the idea of using sheet metal screws in the body. When doing a deep cleaning today I found that |the thick padding with the tar paper backing was sagging down. | This is happening on both sides of the car. This is the area |I can reach by putting my hand in on the side of the Shock |facing the front of the car. I'd like to use a product that |actually works. I'm guessing that tar ish paper and metal |surface might be tricky to adhere to. Also I suspaect that |area gets hot when the car is running. | |Thanks for sharing any products that have worked for you for |this purpose or in similar applications. | |Eric Caron |85 Westfalia GL Auto |
