Hi Bryan,

The list doesn't take attachments...you'll have
to put the image up somewhere you can link to (I
can put it up if you need). Or if it was a link you forgot to put it in.

I'm not sure what your acronym TBS is supposed to
mean...in WWII it was the Talk Between Ships
short-range voice radio system the US Navy used.

TPS is a standard acronym for Throttle Position
Sensor, and some people on the list have recently
started using it inaccurately for our
closed-throttle/Wide-Open-Throttle switches. I
suspect that's what you were aiming for, but it's not really correct.

There are only two setups, the original one you
have and the replacement which came in I think
some time in '85 and is totally different. The
new one hangs off the bottom of the throttle
body, uses a single much smaller microswitch, and
is operated by a cam off the bottom of the
throttle plate shaft. Cheaper to make but not as
good as what you have, and needs a different throttle body.

There's a guy on theSamba who calls himself
TenCentLife or similar -- does throttle body
rebuilds and also has developed a vacuum-based
replacement for that switch. Scott Daniel has
experience with it and likes it. Might be worth checking out.

Yrs,
