Tell me about it. I finally had to bring all my paint work "in-house". We strip the vans (windows, trim, handles, etc.). Remove the top and luggage rack. Then I have my body guy come in, as-needed, on evenings and weekends. When ready, I have a couple of different painters who come in to do final prep before I haul the vans to a rented booth for final spray. Their work is beautiful, and I can get a Westy completely painted in about 2 weeks. Before, I had 2 or 3 paint shops that I would deal with. Quickest turn-around was probably 4 weeks. More commonly, 6 to 8. The work wasn't nearly as nice and it was normal to bring it back for touch ups. What is it with paint guys? Have they been sniffing too many fumes? I can't even begin to tell you all of the similar stories that I have had or heard about from others....
