Running rich just after a start or hard starting when warm often indicates a problem with the Temp 2 sensor or wiring. The connection for this sensor is a common problem. Bad wiring/grounds can create all sorts of havoc with this sensor. I just installed this engine a few weeks ago after a winter project of replacing the head gaskets and I now have just over 200 miles on it from short trips back and forth to work. This engine is new to me, as I bought it from someone last year who did a conversion. Your suggestions and advice is much appreciated. Thanks, Bob Anderson '86 Vanagon GL Wilmington, MA
