This is my first posting to the list.

I have driven VW vans since high school when I bought a 1970 9 passenger. I
got my first Westy in 1978 � it was a pumpkin orange 1974 camper the dealer
couldn�t wait to get rid of. These days I drive a 1988 Vanagon GL passenger
van and a 1990 Westy with a TIICO.

My question regards the best way to safely carry a 12 foot kayak on the roof
of my Westy. I think I would prefer a solution that would allow me to open
the roof without having to take the kayak off, but I would love to hear all
of your ideas.
