That did not work for me. When I put my RC3000 into service 10-12 years ago,
I did not notice an obscure sentence in the Operating Instructions which
read,

"In 12V operation, the appliance runs uninterrupted without temperature
control."

So, after a 5-hour transit I found the temp inside to be well below freezing
and many items frozen. Since then I run the frig on propane from the time I
load it into the van until I get back home.
