I'm in the process of replacing the grommets for the check valves in the expansion tanks. It appears to be necessary to remove the fuel tank filler tube to gain access to the right side expansion tank. Question is, if I disturb the filler tube, is it likely to leak at the tank grommet when I put it back together? Also, how low do I need to get the fuel in the tank to safely remove the filler tube?
