Eric - I'm not that big a fan of the all metal ones being offered by GoWesty, as I have had the knob break right off on some in less than 3 weeks regardless of the condition of the window regulator. GoWesty must have bought a pile of old stock of these because they're no longer being made anymore. Originally they were made for the now defunct H&H Distributors (wholesale only) out of the Bay area. I do have a pair on my GL that have lasted for a few years. Plastic spacers are still available, Airhead/VWG makes them and sells them in pairs: http://www.airheadparts.com/vintage-vw-parts/vanagon-door-and-window-winder-handle-buffer/door-window-winder-buffer-pair-111837595-a-pr I use the Euromax Crank replacements, have for the past few years on my 84 Westy, nothing special, but they do work for me: http://www.airheadparts.com/vintage-vw-parts/vanagon-door-window-winder-crank-handle/quarter-wdw-winder-black-plastic-321837581-a-bk -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing From March 1999 To January 2012 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com Find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Jim-Thompson/100000710343835 *********************************** On Thu, Aug 22, 2013 at 8:59 AM, Eric Caron <ecaron1@comcast.net> wrote: > Hi listers, > > I read the recent crank handle thread with interest.
