First of all let me remind you that since you are using digest mode to receive your mail here,

You may have batteries in the main and house battery boxes, but that is not the topic of
this discussion. The space UNDER the seat pedestals is open, but enclosed by the steel
housing of the pedestal. That can be cut into and used discreetly for storage.
