If it is quiet with the clutch pedal pushed and noisy with it released
than it has to be a main shaft bearing or something in that area .
If it were quiet when released and noisy when pushed I would say throw
out bearing . What ever it is I will find out in a few weeks as my Syncro
box is doing the same thing . This is a Rebuilt Trans by a known and
respected builder .
As I have done ,you should do as well . Take it out of service and get
it looked at . Luckily yours is a 2WD and they are not as expensive to fix
.
One thing for sure it will not get better by itself .
