I'm removing the drivers side interior door panel of my '84 Westfalia, but I'm stumped on how to pull the plastic trim of the release mechanism on the panel. The plastic is intact, and I'd like to keep it that way. I've prized the panel from around the door frame with success, but this part won't budge.

I'm trying to avoid the obvious answer of 'more force.'
