In my case, when I say changes hard I mean it changes with a bang.
I would take off the pan and take out what I have to, but I havent done it yet. I know, I can change a filter but Im not sure what to do with the valve body once its out.

Can you clarify what you mean by "changes hard"?
Shifts late and/or slowly
or
Shifts with an abrupt bang
I am currently working on an '87 Wolfsburg that has the second symptom about a third of the time when not warmed up.
In the past I have had good luck with Seafoam in a Cherokee that would not shift at all for about 2 minutes when cold.
Changed the fluid first and ran it for a couple of hours, then added the Seafoam and ran it for 30 minutes or so, then changed the fluid again. Saw improvement at each stage and eventually it ran normally.
YMMV
Good luck,
Larry A.

Hello to all,
This A/T is changing hard in the morning until it warms up. I dont have a good idea what to do with it, if any, to have it back to good order.
Anyone?
Greetings to all in Christmas spirit.
