Bentley should show values for injector wire resistance (total and at each plug IIRC). It should also show a voltage value at each injector plug. There is a method for checking fuel spray that's useful if you're working on your own. If you search Mark Drillocks email address it should come up in the archives here: http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?S1=vanagon Basically, you lift the dist. up so it's dis-engaged from gear and with ign. on, turn the rotor by hand while watching the removed injectors. The hall in distributor should signal the ECU to cause the injectors to spray. (this is a batch fire system; they should all spray at once) Here's a link to a large-ish pdf file of the Vanagon Digifant pro training manual. If your Bentley is the latest edition, it may contain same, but this is easy to download and print out and handy to carry in the van: http://www.cabby-info.com/Files/ProTrainingManual-Digifant.pdf Neil.
