Friday afternoon last - I was working on my van with the distributor problem - which is parked at the curb where it died in front of my house ( my other van is in the driveway). A black car with very black windows rolled slowly by, as if checking things out. A bit further down the street, it stopped, backed up to my spot and stopped. Some fellow in his mid-late 40's got out, said "I see I'm not the only one to be crazy enough to own one of the vans - but to have TWO?" He laughed and introduced himself. Turned out his Father lives down the same street near the opposite end - and I had never met the man (his father was driving the black car) - AND the gentleman I was talking to had an '85 Westy in the garage and the spring was broken(so to speak). We chatted and it turned out he was to drive to Knoxville for Christmas - and the van was spewing gas, and they just happened to see me and stopped to ask if I knew maybe what might be wrong. Because of his schedule (motivational speaker - very busy) - he already ordered a rental car to drive to Knoxville, and a tow truck to take the van to a garage. I asked if he would care for me to take a look at it. While I had the hatch open the tow truck arrived. The man asked the driver to wait a few minutes - and I poked around on the engine. I had him turn on the ignition - and fuel spewed from the left injector assembly. Switch off - grabbed a screw driver - tightened the hose clamps all around - boy were they loose. Checked the rest - had him test it - all was fine. He fired it up and let it idle - all the while giving the tow truck driver a very nice tip for the effort. He thanked me - and I wished him a merry Christmas and he was on his way -with a wallet much fatter for Christmas than it would have been! Some days you just gotta do what ya gotta do!! John
