I don't know the particulars in this specific Alt warning light case.. and..I sure hear and witness a lot of cases where people will Not Even JUST LOOK !! ... like aim their eyeballs at things in the engine compartment . My own daughter when she was 6 yr old might easily notice a flopping alternator belt is probably not right. I'll stop ...I have even know vanagon owners to see the two classic symtoms of Alt Light on, and Temp Needle rising . ( classic signs of loosing the alt / water pump belt ) .. not even look at the engine .. and when they finally did ..fail to notice a massively split apart and just 'gone' crankshaft pulley ..on a diesel vanagon. It never hurts to just look. One doesn't have to be a real technician to see something obvious completely weird looking, which does happen sometimes. In my perception a lot of people "believe" they can't fix things ..so they don't even look. On 2/7/2014 12:35 PM, JordanVw@AOL.COM wrote: > In a message dated 2/7/2014 3:22:22 P.M.
