ya have yer choices Jim. You can leave the stub axle on the van and slide housing out, but I�d advise taking cv bolts off and remove assembly intact.

yes, chock the wheel, take the hub off. then take the backing plate off - advise using brass drift on the pins locating plate to axle housing less you peen them over.

you can swing backing plate out of the way with hydraulic line connected.
