the vanagon AT stalk is the same as all vw audi ones of that era, and alot
of other cars..   you can already buy nice carbon fiber, leather or  wood
shift knobs that will fit the vanagon shift stalk.   i have a  carbon fiber
one in my vanagon.  i think i paid $25 for it.
