It sure sounds like a hydraulic issue. Does your Vanagon go into 1/2 or R with engine off? With engine off, brake on, wheels chocked, ask helper to depress clutch pedal. Watch the clutch operating lever on driver side of transmission. It should obviously move. Neil.
