Not all Vanagon (type) vehicles carry their spare tire under the front of the vehicle. T3 Doka's could be ordered with the spare under the rear bench and into the cargo hold. Others added exterior rear spare tire carriers. They were stock on Syncro 16 vans. Those locations would be convenient for such a tank. I don't own one but got to use Stacy Schneider's when my van ran low on fuel. IIRC correctly, his was from a Mercedes. Construction appeared identical to the BMW version. I have gotten by for many years with a flat metal one gallon container. My brother has some nice NATO cans that fit exactly under the rear seat. That makes sense for a new beetle, there is no other place to put the tools, literally. But for a Vanagon, not so much. > > Jim
